A few posts ago, I wrote about purchasing a new camera. The image on the left is a picture of it, a Nikon COOLPIX P510. I’m still learning to use it, but so far I like it a lot. It’s still a point and shoot camera, not a DSLR, but it is just enough camera for me now. What does a picture of a new camera have to do with writing freedom? Actually, nothing. The picture on the right is the key to that.
You see, the picture on the right is a picture of me taken in 1974 and published in my high school yearbook. I actually took a picture of it with my new camera to publish here. I could have scanned it just as easily, but I wanted to see how a new image would look from the new camera. I think it turned out pretty good for shooting a grainy, black and white photo over thirty-five years old.
The picture got me started thinking about my writing. A blog provides nearly unlimited freedom for anyone to write what and how they want. I started thinking about my life, and it struck me that I can start writing about the things I have seen and experienced in my life. Since this photo turned out pretty well, it leads me to think that some of my old photos from years past will work also.
There’s only one way to find out, and that is to get started.
That was an excellent post today. Thanks so much for sharing it. I really enjoyed reading it very much. Have a great day.
